We are Windsurfing Club Las Cucharas, your windsurfing and wingfoiling school in Lanzarote. Here, riders of all levels train, progress, and enjoy the wind in its purest form. We offer state-of-the-art equipment, personalized lessons, rental services, and an authentic club atmosphere. Our Spot
Located in the heart of Costa Teguise, Windsurfing Club Las Cucharas is situated in one of the most complete spots in Europe for windsurfing and wingfoiling.
The bay is protected by a natural reef that creates a unique combination of conditions: a flat, safe water area for beginners, and wind and waves outside the reef for advanced riders. In addition, the local atmosphere is second to none, featuring a promenade, bars, shops, accommodation, and the Poco Loco restaurant right next to the Club, perfect for recharging your energy after each session.
This spot offers stable sailing conditions almost all year round, a relaxed environment, and all the necessary services to enjoy a sports holiday in the Canary Islands.
The Club
Our philosophy and way of living the sea:
With over 30 years of history, we are the most experienced school in Lanzarote. We were born out of a love for the wind and teaching, and we continue with the same passion as on day one.
We guide each individual from the very beginning, adapting to their rhythm, level, and style. For us, sailing is much more than mastering a technique; it is about connecting with the sea and with a community that shares that same energy.
Our team is made up of certified, passionate, and multilingual instructors (Spanish, English, and French), committed to making sure you have a unique experience. We are a school, yes. But we are also a meeting point, a place to learn, grow, and take away much more than just a lesson: a way of understanding the sea.

Bookings
How can I make a booking?
You can easily make your booking through our online form or email us if you need more information.
How far in advance should I book?
We recommend booking at least 48 hours in advance to guarantee availability, especially during peak season. However, you can book up to 6 months in advance.
How do I know my booking has been confirmed?
Once you write to us to make a booking, we will send you a proforma invoice with the necessary payment details. You only need to pay 50% in advance and, as soon as we receive it, we will send you a confirmation email. It’s that easy!
Can I change or modify my booking?
Yes, as long as you let us know at least 24 hours in advance. We will do our best to reschedule you based on availability. Just write to us and we will be happy to help.
Payments
How can I pay?
We accept payments by credit/debit card, bank transfer, and cash at the center. However, the pre-booking deposit must be paid via card or bank transfer.
Can I pay on the day of the activity?
Yes, you can pay at the center on the day of your lesson or rental. However, a 50% deposit is required in advance to secure your booking.
What should I do if my payment method doesn't work?
If you experience any issues while making your payment, we first recommend contacting your bank to check that everything is in order. If the problem persists, please write to us and we will help you find a solution or offer you an alternative payment method.
Cancellations
What is the club's cancellation policy?
Our cancellation policy is flexible within reason:
If you cancel more than 24 hours in advance: You will receive a 100% refund.
If you cancel within 24 hours: No refund will be issued, but we will do our best to offer you an alternative, such as a different time slot or a voucher that you can redeem within one year.
What happens if the activity is canceled due to bad weather?
Safety comes first. If weather conditions do not allow the lesson or rental to take place (for example, if there is no wind or if conditions are dangerous), we offer you:
Rescheduling your lesson or rental for another time
A voucher to redeem at a later date
Or, if you cannot return, a full refund of the amount paid
What happens in case of other force majeure events?
If any justified unforeseen event arises (illness, flight cancellation, etc.), please write to us as soon as possible. We will assess your case and look for the best solution so you don’t lose your booking.
Windsurfing & Wingfoil Courses
What types of lessons do you offer?
At our club, we offer windsurfing, wingfoil, and towfoil lessons for all levels: beginner, intermediate, and advanced. We require a minimum of 2 people to form a group course.
How long does a lesson last?
The first lesson for beginners, for both windsurfing and wingfoil, lasts 3 hours, as it includes theory. From the second lesson onwards, the sessions last:
Windsurfing and towfoil: 1 hour and 30 minutes
Wingfoil: 2 hours
When we arrange excursions to the La Santa Lake, the lessons last 3 hours.
Should I arrive before the lesson starts?
Yes, it is important to arrive at least 15 minutes early to:
Receive the initial instructions
Get your gear ready (wetsuit, life jacket, harness)
Prepare the equipment together with your instructor
Practice on the simulator beforehand (if applicable)
Can I choose my instructor?
If you prefer a specific member of the team, just let us know when booking! We will do our best to assign them to you, subject to availability.
How many people are there in a group lesson?
We work with small groups to guarantee personalized attention:
Towfoil: maximum 2 people
Wingfoil: maximum 6 people
Windsurfing: maximum 8 people
Sessions at the La Santa Lake have a maximum of 8 participants.
Do I need to bring anything to the lesson?
You need to bring a swimsuit or a wetsuit (the club can lend you one if needed), a towel, sunscreen, and a bottle of water to stay hydrated. We provide all the rest of the equipment.
What is included in the price of the lesson?
Everything you need: board, sail, wetsuit, harness, life jacket, practice sessions on the simulator beforehand, and full accompaniment by the instructor from the boat throughout the entire session. Equipment insurance is also included.
Can I sign up if I don't have any prior experience?
Of course! We have lessons specially designed for beginners and a quiet area on the beach that is perfect for getting started.
Do you offer lessons for children?
Yes, we have instructors who specialize in teaching children, and we adapt both the equipment and the exercises according to their age and level.
Do you provide lessons in other languages?
Yes, our team speaks several languages, including Spanish, French, and English.
Equipment Rental
How do I book rental equipment?
You can book your equipment online using our form or by contacting us. We recommend doing it in advance to ensure availability.
What equipment can I rent?
We offer a wide range of windsurfing and wingfoil equipment from top brands, adapted to all levels and conditions.
For windsurfing, you can rent:
Freeride, slalom, and other board options depending on your level
Sails from 2.5 m² to 7.5 m²
For wingfoil, we have available:
Boards from 55 to 120 liters
Wings from 3.4 m² to 6 m²
A wide range of foils for different styles and conditions
You can also rent other accessories for an additional cost. If you are not sure what equipment you need, we will be happy to advise you.
Can I book a specific board?
Yes. You can reserve a specific board for your entire stay. You will always have the option to change it depending on the wind conditions.
What is included in the rental?
Safety briefing.
Access to a wide selection of equipment.
Equipment changes based on the daily conditions.
Use of the simulator for intermediate levels.
Technical advice and support from the club’s watchtower.
Damage insurance included if purchased separately.
Constant monitoring of the sailing area by our safety team.
What happens if I booked equipment but there is no wind?
Don’t worry. If conditions do not allow for sailing, you can:
Reschedule your rental for another day
Keep a voucher with no expiry date
Request a refund if you are not going to be able to return
Is there insurance available for the equipment?
Yes. You can purchase insurance that covers potential damage for:
€15 per session
€60 for the first week
€30 for each additional week
Can I rent equipment for half a day, or only for a full day?
We offer both half-day and full-day rentals, with a minimum booking of 3 hours. Just choose the option that best suits you when making your reservation.
Club Life
What services does the club offer?
In addition to our windsurfing, wingfoil, and towfoil lessons and equipment rental, we offer a comfortable space to relax and a hose to rinse off after your session in the water.
Is there a social atmosphere at the club?
The club does not organize social events as such, but right next door you will find Poco Loco, an ideal spot to relax with a drink or something to eat. And if you are looking for a good vibe at sunset, you can stop by El Kiosko, a bar with live music and a great atmosphere after a day on the water.
Can I come to watch the lessons without participating?
Of course! You can come and watch how the lessons go and experience the club’s atmosphere. We love making newcomers feel like part of the community.
Are there any discounts or benefits for club members?
We do not offer special discounts, but we do have gift cards and vouchers available, which are perfect for gifting an experience at the club.
